AYF- Lib Receives IT Equipment from UNFPA through YMCA Liberia

Monrovia, Liberia – The African Youth Fellowship (AYF) Liberia has received a significant donation of IT equipment from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) through YMCA Liberia. This support is part of the Youth Promotion Initiative (YPI) Project, aimed at accelerating digital opportunities for civic participation as a key mechanism for building and sustaining peace in Liberia.

Delivering the equipment to AYF Office, Y-Digital Lab Manager at YMCA, Gibson Doepoh, emphasized that the donation aligns with the broader objectives of the YPI Project. He noted that the equipment is intended to strengthen AYF Liberia’s internal operations and enhance its digital engagement capacity. He encouraged the organization to utilize the resources effectively to advance their mission.

Expressing gratitude, AYF Liberia Founder / Executive Director, Moses N. Buwee extended appreciation to YMCA Liberia for their support. He also thanked UNFPA, UN Women, the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund, and the United Nations Human Rights Office for their commitment to youth empowerment.

He highlighted the challenges AYF Liberia previously faced due to a lack of essential IT resources, including printers, computers, and projectors, and underscored the transformative impact of the donation. “Today is an exciting day for us at AYF Liberia. For a long time, we had to use a computer screen as a projector, but today, we have a high-quality projector and a 55-inch TV.

Additionally, receiving laptops, a printer, and a desktop computer is a major boost for our work,” said Mr. Buwee. He also extended special appreciation to YMCA Liberia’s National Secretary General, Madam Vonyee Kolison, for her dedication and efforts in ensuring that youth organizations, including AYF Liberia, benefit from the YPI Project.

The equipment marks a milestone in AYF Liberia’s efforts to enhance youth engagement in digital advocacy, civic participation, and peacebuilding initiatives. With these resources, the organization is better equipped to continue empowering young people and fostering sustainable development in Liberia.
